Why did I Start Phantom?

I've been using Adobe Premiere for decades and have found the tool to be extremely useful, yet also outdated for 'modern' content creation and today's social media environment.

In today's day and age of social media, YouTube, content creation, and the need to push content faster than ever, traditional NLEs like Premiere Pro lack the speed and capabilities for what modern 'creators' demand.

If you've been using Adobe Premiere for a while, you know how hard it is to get proper Captions, let alone the several steps needed to create an effect short-form video with individual words that pop up. That's only the tip of the iceberg of the MANY things that I have trouble wrapping my head around.

Why do I need to go through 10 steps to transition between clips, while CapCut or my phone can create similar effects in seconds without key-framing every step?

Sure, you can create a whole documentary/movie from start to finish in Premiere Pro, but modern creators aren't using Premiere for that purpose anymore.

Hence why we started Phantom Editor, a plugin to fill the inefficiencies of today's NLEs to help modern creators and video editors create better, faster, and easier.

What's the goal with Phantom?

Our goal is to create the ultimate plugin for creators to edit more efficiently with the latest tools available. For example, with AI growing leaps and bounds every month, how can video editors utilize those tools in their editing process? That's the types of problems we want to solve, and the solutions we want to provide.

Our Philosophy with AI

We personally believe that AI won't replace video editors; however, we want to build tools for video editors to create quicker with their own added creativity of course.

Our goal is not for AI to replace you, but to assist in the editing process. We view the relationship between AI and the editor as a symbiotic relationship, similar to that of an Associate Editor and Senior Manager.

We believe AI can help editors remove the tedious tasks out of editing like going through a raw talking head sequence to remove all the retakes.

But YOU, the editor, still have the ability to choose what to keep/remove.

AI is only there to make the suggestions while you add the creativity that makes the video yours.
